Do you think the literature community has enough resources for writers? (For what I mean by "resources", read the comment below.)

What is a literature resource (according to me, anyway)?

A "resource" could be a news article, a journal entry or a deviation (usually under literature > prose > non-fiction > essays/editorials or under deviantart related > tutorials or under tutorials and resources > misc ), which is designed to inform people about aspects of writing, revising, critiquing, publishing, etc. In fact, I would also include certain forum and poll discussions in this category as they can be very useful.

Some examples:

news article: Poetry, Prose: Who Knows?
journal entry: Tanka Discussion 1
deviation: A Prosist's Guide to Self Editing
forum discussion: Franz Kafka

What do I want to know?

I want to know if this dA environment is sufficiently educative and encouraging to writers of all kinds. So answers from the perspective of someone who is new to writing and/or dA or someone who has been here awhile and is fairly experienced, or just any place in between those two, are needed.

In addition, you can also tell me which resources you've found particularly useful (please post a link to it) or what kinds of articles you think are missing (do we need a writeup on scifi or metaphors or stream-of-consciousness, etc).

Thanks!

[Please note that *litNEWS and ~Lit-Source are great resources on deviantART, especially with respect to contest, project and club information. We're just looking to expand on that.]

I don't really thoroughly check the resources (though I do read the Hot Topics from the Lit GDs and watch *litNEWS), but I did find the "Who needs reality? We have fiction!" article to be recently useful (I wasn't sure about what exactly could be submitted to the Occult Gallery).

I'd really like to see some more up that are aimed at beginner poets explaining the pitfalls of poetry like clichés and bad syntax and stuff.

For some reason (maybe it's just me), I've not seen too much on publishing. Other than that, information on everything else has been amazing!

can you ever have enough? but then, I would say that we do have a lot, enough to be called enough, perhaps, but I don't think you can ever have 'enough' in the sense that no more need be made.

There can always be more, but I think many people are breaking new ground in terms of studying and presenting fresh ideas about the concepts of writing. I agree that there could be more information made available about publishing.
i would say no
DA needs more help for the lit community

I agree with *scottish-gardeners. It would be a good idea to explain how to avoid cliches and the like before a beginner develops bad habits.
I'm with *Laurence55, I think there's a lot of good resources on here already, but there's always room for more.

Honestly, I never thought to look here for resources like that. Maybe the take away from that should be a campaign to raise awareness of the resources that are available here
